STORIA DELLA CANZONE:
“Release me (and let me love again)” fu registrata per la prima volta da Eddie Miller nel 1946.
Jimmy Heap, alla fine del 1954, raggiunse il 5° posto della graduatoria Country di Billboard all’inizio del 1954.
Solo poche settimane più tardi, Kitty Wells portò la sua versione di “Release me” al settimo posto.
Nel 1962, Little Esther Phillips raggiunse addirittura il primo gradino della classifica Rhythm’n’Blues.
Nel 1967, invece, Englebert Humperdinck arrivò 4° nella Hot 100.
Si può tranquillamente affermare che “Release me (and let me love again)” sia la canzone country più eseguita di tutti i tempi.
